My work is an open reflection on identity, exile and power.

The notion of a journey, an "inherent" pathway from one point to another, interests me because it illuminates the difficulties of putting down roots in a new territory. This passage from one state to another creates the blurred and abstract status of an individual who is "estranged". A person with two affiliations, who is part of a complex and ambiguous socio-political condition, the illusory "other".
These initial perceptions led me to questions about our relationship to the representation of power and our permissive allegiance to it. My desire is to analyse these concerns through my own personal experiences and those that I witness in my immediate environment, translating them into different aesthetic and visual forms. My language is similar to an intimate poetic narrative which focuses on the sum of a life, on a human being stuck in a daily existence full of contradictions and misunderstandings, on our societal roles in a world that's in constant flux, on a fascinating, compelling violence. I'm interested in a kind of non-confrontational resistance which undermines codes, in the emergence of a dual language that is both poetic and sharp and entirely free from pathos.
